PROJECT OLIVE
Minoco Wharf Mixed Use Project

master plan for a new 3,500-unit high-density, mixed-use community in London was recently submitted for planning approval. The large-scale project on London’s Minoco Wharf will transform a riverside brownfield site near the Thames Barrier into a thriving community. With a plan that embraces water as a key element, LEO A DALY and London-based Reid Architects, with Rotterdam-based West 8  have created an innovative plan at the gateway to the London 2012 Olympic Games site.
The development combines retail, office, residential and recreational space on a 25-acre parcel of land with a special focus on public space and community assets. The property’s developer, Ballymore Properties Limited, has a 20-year history of creating vibrant multi-use developments in London and throughout Europe.

RDI Group – Pushkino

After an international design competition, RDI Group invited LEO A DALY to design and implement a smart-growth strategy, as well as develop the conceptual and master plans for a vibrant and sustainable residential, mixed-use community that responsibly manages this urban growth.
Dating back to 1499, the Pushkino district and its lush forests, lakes, and streams historically served as a summer retreat of the Russian nobility and poets.
The concept envisioned a community that integrates residential and commercial units, offering a unique alternative to the common suburban development that is void of meaning and sense of place. Instead, LEO A DALY focused on a design that promotes a community identity, while integrating the surrounding nature and landscape, and making pedestrians the priority with a responsible roadway layout.
